Beach weddings require special preparation as power is not readily available.
Why do you need power?
Even the smallest of ceremonies will run into sound issues as the beach is loud. You have to overcome the wind, waves and seagulls. Even with a 10 person ceremony it is difficult to hear the officiant, Bride & Groom over the noise so mic's are a must. Additionally, the music I play requires backing tracks to create that full sound and make the songs recognizable. Some musicians use generators to overcome the power debacle, however, that just creates more noise. I have special battery powered equipment that takes care of all of this and gives just the right amount of sound for these occasions, while leaving a small footprint that is easily out of the way of photos to maintain the minimalist beach setting. Getting it all out there on the beach is a lot more work than at other locations, however, and special permitting is often needed so for this reason beach ceremonies cost a little more than traditional ceremonies.
